There are a number of projects related to the dxr2 driver. Everything from scripts that will automatically compile dxr2 with the features you want (dxr2install) to plugins for various media players that allow you to control your dvd-playback from a Graphical User Interface. There are also a few driver specific projects, such as projects that strive to port the linux dxr2 driver to other platforms, such as FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD. Below is a list of dxr2 related projects. Be aware that some of these projects are not hosted on the same network as the Dxr2 Resource Center, and therefore may or may not be accessible at a certain time.

The Linux Dxr2 Project strives to create drivers for the Dxr2 card for the Linux Platform. The project developers also work on various plugins/players that work with the drivers. This allows Hardware Decoded DVD Playback on Linux to work extremely well.

This project strives to help users get there dxr2 cards working under linux NOW ignoring the technical details. The program is currently being developed by Raphael Zulliger

The FreeBSD port project is exactly as it says, porting the linux dxr2 driver to the FreeBSD Platform. FreeBSD is an advanced operating system for Intel ia32 compatible, DEC Alpha, and PC-98 architectures. The aim of Dxr2GUI is to make it easy to watch a dvd. It helps you to change audio language, tvout format, subtitles, ... everything from inside a Graphical User Interface.

The dxr2 Xine Plugin is a plugin written for the Xine Media Player which allows you to use the dxr2's great hardware decoding with the Xine Media Player's nice Graphical User Interface. Xine is a free video player which plays mpeg-2 and mpeg-1 video, DVDs (unlocked/unencrypted only), video CDs, SVCDs, and AVI files (using Win32 codecs) with synchronized audio and video, and optionally fullscreen using the Xv extensions in Xfree86 4.x. gdxr2 is a front end to dvdplay, the drivers for the Creative Dxr2 DVD decoder board (http://opensource.creative.com). It currently supports all standard playback features.

kdxr2 is a project to create an easy to use DVD player for the Creative Labs dxr2 dvd card.
