What is the Dxr2 Resource Center?
The Dxr2 Resource Center is Center is a community focus point for the Creative
Dxr2 DVD decoder card. Creative Dxr2 drivers for Linux, and other platforms
are actively being developed, as well as a multitude of other programs,
drivers, documentation, etc. The Website is the home of the Creative Dxr2
drivers (dxr2-driver). Included is a script for compiling the Dxr2 drivers, as
well as various components (dxr2install), a Dxr2 plugin for the XINE media
player (xine-plugin), and other projects related to the Dxr2 decoder card.
What the Dxr2 Resource Provides
The Dxr2 Resource Center provides users that own a Creative Dxr2 Card with
Drivers, Documentation, Plugin-Ins, and support for using there card under the
Linux Operating System.
Who is Responsible for Developing What?
There are alot of developers that work on the various projects related
to the Dxr2 Resource Center. Some are fulltime developers, meaning they
continually try to improve and enhance DVD Playback on the Dxr2. Some
are just user's who discovered a problem, wrote a patch, and submitted
it to the Dxr2 Developers to be put into the next Stable Release.
Sometime in the future we might have a list of who develop's what here,
but for now the best place is to just goto to the individual project's
web pages (http://dxr2.sourceforge.net/projects/*projectname*) and find
out. Another good place to find out who is active in the Development is
the mailing lists. This is where you will find the most recent patches,
bug fixes, etc. as well as future plans for the project.
