The Onlamp website has a two part article series on CVS. The first part covers an introduction to CVS. The second piece covers tracking changes to the repository. Just thought everyone would benefit from the article series. Enjoy! In other news, I am going to be working on getting the current site converted over to a PHP Content System, where all the content is derived dynamically, and will be much more easier to maintain, etc.

Uploaded and released the new version of the dxr2-driver (version 1.0.4). It can be found through the Download Section or the dxr2-driver Project Page. Before compiling, you will need to have installed the hacked version of libdvdread (see below). Some of the improvements over the last version include IFO support (for chapter jumping and better subtitles), better overlay support, and a complete C wrapper for dvdplay-curses (to allow use by non-root users). The new release is not yet listed at the main SourceForge page but will be shortly. Please e-mail the dxr2-devel list if you experience any problems. Enjoy! :)

Uploaded the hacked version of libdvdread which is now required with the dxr2-driver (for IFO support -- hurray!). It can be found through the Download Section or the dxr2-driver Project Page.

Due to the crash of Creative's opensource webserver the dxr2-devel mailinglist is down. We've decided to create a new mailinglist at sourceforge. All further devel-mails are going through that mailinglist and not anymore through Creative's service! Register yourself for this new mailinglist.

Work on the OGLE library libdvdread has pretty much just started. Please subscribe to the mailing list, or view the mailing list archives for Dec 2001-Present for technical details about what needs to be done, etc. You can also check out the mailing list archives on the web at http://opensource.creative.com/pipermail/dxr2-devel/

New site layout is uploaded. Everything SHOULD be working, but I make no promises. Thanks to ChipX86 over at Portal Design for the help with the XHTML. All the site pages should be validated XHTML now, except for the Source Forge logo's at the bottom of each page, which cause some problems, but I will fix them shortly when i figure out how ;) Development should pick up here soon after everyone recovers from the Holiday's, etc.

Organizing Site data a little better, so site links will be down/broken every do often. Just hang in there till then.

Continuing to update the site with more information. Work is underway currently to add chapter support to the dvdplay program, which would greatly improve the current state of dvd playback with the dxr2 driver. As of now, we are planning to use the OGLE IFO Parsing library for chapter support, but this may change. More updates coming soon.

Well, this is the first update to the new site. Its still coming around, but hopefully in a bit it will be chalked full of information about the dxr2 Project. As you can see, we have a new logo on the top of the page. I incorporated a picture the actual dxr2 card, as well as TUX the penguin, the linux mascot. You can also see the FreeBSD daemon up in the top left hand corner "rearing his ugly head" Basically it means that there we are going to try and get the dxr2 card to work on other platforms other than linux, and this site is not going to be solely focused on linux, but EVERYTHING dxr2.
